In October, Applebee’s offered $1 margaritas. Now, the popular restaurant chain is offering patrons a knockout of a holiday gift: $1 Long Island Iced Teas.

You read that correctly. Throughout December, participating Applebee’s restaurants are offering $1 Long Island Iced Teas. These drinks have acquired a certain reputation over the years, and they’ve earned it. The Applebee’s ingredient list for their version: “mix of vodka, rum, gin, tequila, triple sec and sweet & sour mix with a splash of cola.” No there’s no actual tea in a Long Island Iced Tea, but the combination of these liquors and the cola does create a sort of tea flavor. Sort of.

Appropriately, Applebee’s refers to their version of the drink as the Applebee’s L.I.T.

The $1 December specials are available at the Gulfport, Biloxi and Ocean Springs locations.

In their news release, the company states, “As always, Applebee's reminds you to please drink responsibly,” but does not mention a drink limit, so know your limits.

In case you’re wondering about the origins of the Long Island Iced Tea, we’re not going down that messy rabbit hole, but Thrillist did, and the story is fascinating.
