Seven young women from throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast were presented April 30 during the 2016 Fashionetta Cotillion, hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Upsilon Chi Omega Chapter and the LIFT Mississippi Gulf Coast Charitable Organization.
The Fashionetta Cotillion is for young women who exemplify poise, leadership and respect within their schools and communities.
Throughout the season, the debutante-elects engaged in various workshops and activities that encouraged future success.
The Fashionetta Cotillion at the Dr. Frank Gruich Community Center in Biloxi celebrated the end of the season with a grand ball for their family and friends.
Destiny Ausmer: Daughter of Dr. Daphne Lowe and Lashan Ausmer. She is a member of Sweet Rest Baptist Church and a senior at Biloxi High School, where she is a member of the dance team and African American Cultural Society.
Lauren Kennedi Ozie Dixon: The daughter of Mr. Walter and Dr. Persharon Dixon is an 11th-grade student at Ocean Springs High School, where she is co-captain of the Ocean Springs Sparkle Cheerleading Squad and lead lighting technician for the Ocean Springs Theatre program.
Nyah Nicole Duckworth: The daughter of William and Shaqulia Duckworth attends Gulfport High school where she is in the National Honor Society, on Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Gulfport High School varsity Cheer Team and Annual Yearbook Staff.
Ashlynn Racquel McBride: The daughter of Autoria McBride attends First Missionary Baptist Church and is a senior at Gulfport High School. Ashlynn is a student ambassador for Gulfport High School, historian reporter of DECA organization, member of the Anti-Bullying Campaign, and co-captain of Pretty Girls Dance Team.
Kanesha McInnis: The daughter of Kelvin McInnis and LaSonya Plainer. She is a member of Bible Way Baptist Church, a senior at Harrison Central High School where she is captain of the Harrison Central's co-ed cheer team, senior class vice president, Basketball Belles Secretary, Key Club, Interact Club and National Society of High School Scholars.
Serena Moenique Lott: The daughter Larry and Vera Lott attends New Zion Baptist Church in Wiggins, is a student at Harrison Central High School, a member of the Harrison Central High School Band where she is the 2015-2016 Alto Saxophone Section leader and music staff. She is also a member of the Spanish Honor Society, National English Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars.
DeAndria Turner: The daughter of Arthur Reggans and the late Amy Turner attends St. Martin High School, where she is a Show Choir member and choir president.
