14 young women to vie for Camellia Queen in Biloxi

The 58th annual Mississippi Camellia Queen Pageant will be held March 26 in the Camellia Ballroom of the Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi.

The pageant is open to young women between the ages of 15 and 19 years who will compete in a personal interview and an on stage poise and personality competition.

The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship to the college of her choice. The first runner-up will receive a $500 scholarship and the second runner-up will receive a $250 scholarship.

The pageant is sponsored by the Biloxi Lions Club.

This year's contestants are:

Abbie Brashier of Biloxi, the daughter of Lucy Brashier and Bobby Brashier, is a senior at Biloxi High School and is sponsored by The Insurance Center.

Daisy Dodson of Long Beach, the daughter of Melissa Jane Dodson, is a freshman at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and is sponsored by her family.

Blair Doyle of Biloxi, the daughter of Katherine and Don Doyle, is a senior at St. Patrick High School and is sponsored by Mississippi Coast Supply Co.

Morgan Dubaz of Ocean Springs, the daughter of Susan and Daniel Dubaz, is a senior at Ocean Springs High School.

Hayley Dye of Biloxi, the daughter of Amy and Robert Dye, is a senior at D'Iberville High School and is sponsored by Mary Kay beauty consultant Amy Dye

Faith Edgell of Ocean Springs, the daughter of Elaine and Tony Wilson, is a sophomore at Ocean Springs High School and is sponsored by her parents.

Alyssa Hornsby of Biloxi, the daughter of the late Dixie and Warren "Bo" Hornsby, is a senior at St. Patrick High School and is sponsored by her grandmother Clare Sekul Hornsby.

Anna Katherine Kendricks of Gulfport, the daughter of Susan and Sam Kendricks, is a sophomore at Gulfport High School and is sponsored by her parents.

Amanda Kilduff of Ocean Springs, the daughter of Julie and Bill Kilduff, is a senior at Ocean Springs High School and is sponsored by her parents.

Layla McCowin of Biloxi, the daughter of Heidi and Patrick McCowin, is a senior at Biloxi High School and is sponsored by her parents.

Lillian Pham of D'Iberville, the daughter of Diana Le and Hung Pham, is a freshman at D'Iberville High School and is sponsored by Diana Le.

Alexis Solloway of Vancleave, the daughter of Angela and Chuck Hill, is a freshman at Missisippi Gulf Coast Community College and is sponsored by her parents.

Gloria Utterback of Ocean Springs, the daughter of Ann and David Utterback, is a junior at Ocean Springs High School and is sponsored by her parents.

Maggie Wakham of Ocean Springs, daughter of Dr. Dean and Elizabeth Wakham, is a junior at Ocean Springs High School and is sponsored by Wakham Orthodontics.

Callie Young of Gautier, daughter of Cari and Steven Gurley and Eric Howard, is a freshman at Gautier High School and is sponsored by her parents.

Elizabeth Zorich of Biloxi, daughter of Ellen and Michael Zorich, is a senior at St. Patrick High School and is sponsored by Dr. Johneen Gilich.
