Fox Quietly Canceled One of Its Most-Watched Shows
Fox appears to have quietly moved on from one of its most-watched shows without much mention from the network.
Just last month, Variety reported the network was moving on from its longtime hit show So You Think You Can Dance, which at one point brought in more than 10 million viewers per episode.

Fox never announced an official cancellation and even as of last month Fox Television Network president Rob Wade suggested the series won't be returning, but never offered a "formal" decision.
"Obviously, a really important show in the history of Fox, and right now, there's no plans to order another season," Thorn told reporters as Fox shared details about its upcoming slate of show. "And you know, we've had conversations about it, but nothing formal."
The show was a summer staple from 2005-19, but ran into a rough patch marked by various troubles and controversies.
The show took a two-year break during the COVID-19 pandemic before eventually returning with Season 17 featuring JoJo Siwa, Matthew Morrison and Twitch as judges (replacing judging panelists Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Laurieann Gibson, who were originally slated to return for the show's 17th season in 2020 before the pandemic hit).
Morrison later exited the show, which skipped 2023 before its return to the network in 2024 to limited viewership.
The very first season of the show delivered 10.3 million views for its season-opener and the viewership remained strong through 2011 with more than 9.5 million tuning into the season-opener of Season 8.
However, just over one million tuned in to watch the season-opener of the latest season and fewer than one million watched the finale.
