This White American Eskimo Dog's Post-Lawn-Mowing Adventure Comes With a Surprising Makeover
Summertime is always fun for families because there's so much more we can do outdoors to make memories. And they don't even have to be elaborate plans; sometimes just hanging out in the yard or doing chores is enough to find some excitement. And when you have a dog with light-colored fur, well, cutting the grass becomes a fun adventure.
In this video, we meet a white American EskimoDog who had a fun time watching her parents cut the grass, and her post-lawn adventure comes with a surprising makeover. Take a look!
@thebonndotcomm Every. Time. I. Mow. My puppy mill rescue is scared of thunder but will walk right behind a lawn mower and roll in the grass #momtok#dog#dogsoftiktok#dogmom#rescuedog

Shared on TikTok by Bonnie (@thebonndotcomm), the video is of her adorable rescue pup, Angel, a very fluffy, very white American Eskimo Dog. The video starts with a joke: Angel's mom pretends to ask herself whether she mowed the lawn today and looks surprised, but it's obvious. Why was it obvious? Well... Angel gave it away very quickly when the camera panned over to her.
Instead of her fluffy white fur taking center stage in Angel's look, she's been transformed. She's now green, like the Grinch, and it's hilarious. She very obviously had fun rolling around in the grass, turning green in the process.

In the comments, hundreds of people had a good giggle at Angel and the fact that she's turned herself from a bright white American Eskimo Dog into a funny green color.
One person wrote, "I laughed, and he turned so quickly, I thought he'd heard me through the phone."
Another shared, "I have a dog named Blueberry. When I mow, I call her Greenberry."
Someone else added, "I thought you were just gonna show some green beans, not the whole plant."
Other comments included, "Does she glow in the dark now?" "I bet she smells so good though," "We love environmentally friendly natural dye," "You caught a shiny," and "IDK what I was expecting... but it wasn't the green floof."

Why Dogs Love Rolling in Grass, and What Pet Parents Should Watch Out For
Angel looks like she had a fun time outside after the grass had been cut, and even though we can't see exactly what she did, it's pretty clear the little one rolled around in the cut grass, given she's fully green. But why do dogs love to roll in the grass? Well, a few reasons.
According to PetMD, it's totally normal for dogs to roll around in the grass, and there are a few reasons why your pup might like it. One reason, the site explains, is that it's a good way for pups to scratch their backs. Dogs can't reach their backs, so rolling around can be a way to scratch an itch, or just to give them the feeling they love. It can be particularly enjoyable after the lawn is cut because there may be sharper edges to reach the hard-to-itch spots.
Other reasons a pooch might roll around in the grass include covering up another animal's scent, masking their own scent, or communicating through scent.
If your dog is rolling around in the grass, keep an eye on them to see if they're doing it more for fun than because something is irritating them, like an itch. PetMD also says that if you do let your pup roll around outside in grass, it's a good idea to have them on flea and tick prevention medication to make sure those don't become an issue.
Also, if you have a white dog like Angel, be aware that they can temporarily turn green if they roll in wet, freshly cut grass.
