Joni Lamb was a beloved Christian broadcaster whose unexpected death has shocked fans. Her death at age 65 was confirmed by Daystar Entertainment, her company, which wrote on May 7, "With heavy hearts, we share the news that Joni Lamb graduated to Heaven this morning. We know that she is in the presence of Jesus, reunited with Marcus, and receiving her reward for a beautiful life lived in surrender to the Lord."

Marcus was Lamb's first husband. Although a formal cause of death was not revealed for Joni Lamb, the network's statement did provide some information about Lamb's declining health.

"Daring, authentic, and fiercely committed to sharing the Gospel with the world, Joni Lamb has become a bold voice, declaring the truth of God's Word to this generation," her bio reads on Daystar Entertainment. "As the Co-Founder and President of Daystar Television Network, she strives to deliver excellence as she carries the torch forward, leading the network into a new chapter."

Joni Lamb Had a Recent Back Injury That Compounded Other Serious Health Issues, a Statement Says

According to Daystar's statement, Lamb had a "recent back injury."

Prior to that injury, "Lamb had been dealing with serious health matters that she chose to face head on and in private," the statement says.

"The back injury compounded those challenges and led to a more serious medical situation than anyone had anticipated. Despite the dedicated efforts of her medical team, and the prayers of so many around the world, her condition worsened in the last few days." Her family requested prayers and privacy, the statement added.

Fans responded on social media, with one writing, "This is so sad. Loved watching Joni. Condolences to the Lamb family and everyone at Daystar. She will be missed dearly. It's not goodbye it's till we see you again!" According to CBN, Lamb "is survived by her husband Doug, as well as her three children-Jonathan, Rachel, and Rebecca, and their families."

How did Marcus Lamb die? According to the Dallas News, "Marcus Lamb, formerly the network's CEO, died at 64 in November 2021. At the time, The News reported that Lamb family members said the family patriarch was battling COVID-19."

Lamb remarried after her husband died. "After losing her husband, Joni faced the challenge of battling through grief while taking on new duties as head of Daystar," her bio says. "In 2023, she remarried and co-hosts the network's daily, live, flagship broadcast Ministry Now alongside her husband, Dr. Doug Weiss."
