How To Make Your Miis Date on ‘Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream'
Many people believe love is a battlefield - and if you're a Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream player, it can certainly feel that way sometimes.
It's pretty easy for your Miis to develop a crush. Sometimes, all it takes is some kind words, a helpful gesture, or, in some cases, it's love at first sight for your characters. However, moving past the smitten stage in the new Nintendo game to actual dating, weddings, babies, and beyond is pretty difficult.
Kickstarting Your Miis' Romantic Relationship
Getting stuck in the "wants to confess" stage with Miis is a common affliction for Tomodachi Life players, but don't be discouraged - there is a way through the (often insanely long) phase when two Miis have a crush on one another.
The process of mutual "smitten" feelings can take several days, peaking at "wants to confess" for both parties. If you aren't there yet, dragging your Miis together and having multiple, consistent positive exchanges between the pair will help speed this along. Make sure both characters have the correct dating preferences - e.g., a female Miis is open to dating men, women, non-binary Miis, etc. They must also both be adults and not related to one another.
Many Tomodachi Life players report going on vacations together, which is rewarded via Travel Tickets through your island's fountain when you level up, will help your Miis develop a stronger romantic bond, moving them towards confessing their love. The Tomoria restaurant and Ferris wheel are also two common spots for confessions, so visiting them can help you get to your big moment - and being successful at it, too. When the time is right (at least, according to Tomodachi Life), a pink thought bubble should appear next to your Mii - click on that to start the romantic cutscene.
How To Make Your Miis Get Married
Once your Mii successfully confesses and the pair progress to "sweethearts" status, continuing to spend quality time on a regular basis is key to moving to the next stage, called "wants to marry!"
Just like the friends-to-lovers transition, regular restaurant trips, tickets for vacations, and generally sweet exchanges can help your Mii want to propose. This will usually take several days to achieve, and will likely require successful completion of a shooter mini-game, involving hearts in the brain, to get the Mii to pop the question.
Helping Your Miis Have (Or Not Have) a Baby
Tomodachi Life is rather traditional, and your Miis will need to be married, as well as achieve "soulmate" status, to have a baby. When your Mii is ready, another pink thought bubble should appear, where the Mii asks you what you think about their idea of having a baby. If you react positively, a baby should arrive at their home in two days, stork-style.
Once the baby comes, you will be able to choose its gender, name, and some early personality traits. However, if you change your mind, when they're still an infant or when the Mii has grown up, you can have the child sent away, and unlike the previous Tomodachi Life games, they will not visit again.
