Nothing beats a day at the salon, getting pampered and treated to a full set of fresh nails. Each passing season brings the opportunity for a new look, and this princess of a pit bull is in full spring swing!

Reign Storm, the pit bull, sat down with her mom recently to have her nails trimmed and painted. As a nod to the season, her mom gave her a beautiful ladybug theme, and it looks just darling.

The treatment started with a foaming soap scrub, trim and brush, then mom started in on the paint design.

Mom started with a tan base, then went over one nail with red. The tan nails got French manicure-style white tips, then mom added black polka dots to the white tips and white polka dots to the red nail. Finally, the tan nails got little ladybugs, perfecting the cutesy look.

Throughout the experience, the pup looked so relaxed and grateful. She didn't bark or move her paws one inch.

"You can tell that she is used to this pamper treatment," one commenter notes. "She was so comfortable that she started falling asleep."

"She is so beautiful and chill, what a distinguished and well behaved lady," another says.

"Every male dog is gonna have higher expectations for a mate," a third adds. "The young female pit has raised the bar. Her nails are perfect."

Can You Paint a Dog's Nails?

If your own pup is looking at these ladybug nails, wondering when their next salon appointment is set for, there are a few things to keep in mind before buffing and polishing dog nails.

If you're going to give your pup a fresh set, it's important to look for water-based, nontoxic nail polish made specifically for dogs. Warren London and Dog Fashion Spa are two companies that specialize in dog-specific nail polishes, polish pens and other pup pampering products.

Even when using dog-safe products made for pets, it's still a good idea to paint your dog's nails in a well-ventilated space, and start with one coat on one nail to make sure your pet doesn't have any unintended reactions.

While dog nail polishes are made to dry very quickly, often in less than one minute, pet parents who do apply nail polish to their dogs often distract their pets with a treat or lick mat to keep their pet comfortable and relaxed throughout the paw-painting experience.

If you're new to pet polish, start small and basic with simple one-color designs. If your dog enjoys the look, you can get more creative, perhaps one day being as creative as this pit bull's mom with ladybug designs and more!
