This Baby Horse Thinks She's a Puppy, Wants to Lie in the House All Day

Some dogs are stubborn and refuse to get up for a walk even when you ask them nicely, but what if the dog in question is a baby horse?

The Our Life Adventures YouTube channel documents one family's animal-centric home, complete with spider monkeys and a capuchin, but this video is all about a young horse named Annie who, by the looks of it, really and truly believes herself to be an indoor pet.

"We are gonna have a hard time telling Annie she's a horse," the video's caption reads. We believe it, because we find Annie lying down on her side on top of a living room rug, side-eyeing mom as she's told it's time to get up and outside for the day.

"It's time to go outside, do you hear me?" Mom says. "We've got to go somewhere today and you've got to go outside. You can't stay in here and do horse poopies everywhere."

Of course, Mom loves Annie, so she speaks in a gentle baby tone and gives the horse lots of scratches and pets, even as she's repeating, "You've got to go outside and be a horsie today."

In the end, Mom has to pick Annie up and carry her outside. Annie is having none of it, but she is a good baby and lets mom carry her out in her arms.

"When she's not ready," Mom says, "we've just got to tote her, pick her up and make her go."

It's hilariously cute to see this woman carrying a whole baby horse in her arms like a dog or human child. Annie is very well behaved, all things considered, and she gets a goodbye hug from her human brother, himself a young child.

"I think she thinks she is a dog," one commenter says.

"Oh if that's not the sweetest damn thing I've ever seen," another gushes.

"She's precious," one more adds. "A cute little appaloosa."

How Fast Do Baby Horses Grow?

We're not sure how old Annie is in this video, but she must be pretty young, because horses grow quite quickly.

In the first month of life, a horse can gain as much as two to three pounds every day. By six months, when the horse is weaning, foals can grow to about half of their mature weight and about 80 to 84 percent of their full-grown height.

Between one and two years, horses reach about 90 to 97 percent of their full weight and height, and by years three to six, the final growth spurts finish, while most of the gains are seen horizontally as the horse "fills out."

If Annie is still being carried in her mom's arms, she's likely not even six months old. Mom was right when she said, "You're just a rotten little baby," but by rotten, we know she means extra sweet!
