This Horse's 'Athletic' Trot Gives the Kentucky Derby a Run for Its Money
Even though the Kentucky Derby has concluded, that doesn't mean we can't enjoy watching athletic horses anymore. While he might not be competing in the race, Chicken Elizabeth Nugget (real name) definitely gave us a show that rivals even the most entertaining horse race around. While the entertainment wasn't exactly his speed, we have to admit we would definitely love to see him in the mix during the next Kentucky Derby.
In the hilarious video, Chicken Elizabeth Nugget is challenged to run faster than last year's winner, who ran a mile and a quarter in just over two minutes. However, this horse had absolutely no desire or motivation to partake in any of this nonsense, and the result has the internet in stitches.

Despite his jockey/mom's best attempts, Chicken Elizabeth Nugget had no interest other than going home. Nuggy started with a rough start to the finish line when he actually didn't move a single muscle. Walking calmly throughout the fields, I don't think anyone could've motivated Nuggy to pick up any speed whatsoever.

Instead, this adorable horse was more interested in sightseeing the gorgeous sunset, which was quickly setting on this race. After speeding up his walk to a light trot, this horse decided it was time to go home and started heading the other way. For those of us very interested in seeing if he could surpass the record, he did not. In fact, Chicken Elizabeth Nugget completed the distance in one hour, 17 minutes, and 49 seconds. A very tight race indeed.
Even though Chicken Elizabeth Nugget couldn't bring home the trophy, the comment section surely did. "I swear Chicken Nugget is just an orange cat in disguise," added one user, which we have to admit couldn't be any truer. Another commenter joked, "According to legend, the race is still going." As one user summarized, "The trot is the fastest I think I've ever seen him move the entire time ive subbed to this channel."
While Chicken Elizabeth Nugget and her jockey might not be allowed anywhere near the Kentucky Derby in the near future, we do have to admit that he is a natural performer at making us laugh, so at least we know he has that talent!
