Popular Ocean Springs restaurant opening second Mississippi Coast location

Lancaster’s, a family-owned restaurant serving homestyle meals in Ocean Springs, is opening a second location in Long Beach as part of a more than $6 million boutique hotel chain development.

Owners Rodney and Tansy Lancaster said they’re hoping to open their doors, located on the first floor of the upcoming Hotel Whiskey, no later than July 4.

The couple said Lancaster staples will remain on the menu, but the Long Beach location will add more fresh seafood and a full bar. To prepare, Rodney and Tansy said they plan to attend the Crescent School of Gaming and Bartending.

“We do things as a team. We’re a power couple. We’ve been together 14 years,” Tansy said. “We wake up together and we go to bed together, no fail.”

The entrepreneur-duo credited their success, and their loyal customer base, to their staff.

“We have a great team that we’ve been training, and they stand up where they need to,” Tansy said.

The restaurant will offer room service for Hotel Whiskey, a three-floor boutique hotel with locations along the Coast. Alongside Lancaster’s, the hotel is set to include around 30 guest rooms and a Southern Magnolia Realty office.

“It seems like everybody is excited to have what we consider one of our flagship hotels in the Long Beach area,” Hotel Whiskey partner Dennis deBoisblanc said. “We’re just really excited to have Lancaster’s team come over and open up in our hotel.”
