Popular sub chain one of 2 South MS restaurants in same shopping center to fail inspection
Only two South Mississippi restaurants have failed their health department inspections this month, and they are in the same shopping center.
Restaurants and kitchens in Mississippi are rated “A” if they pass the health department inspection, “B” if all violations are corrected during the inspection and “C” if the violations are critical.
Since Oct. 1, the report shows 199 restaurants and kitchens in South Mississippi passed their inspection with an A and 26 with a B..
Those that received a C are:
Sub Sandwich 3 doing business as Jersey Mike’s Subs, 2821 Promenade Pkwy., D’Iberville, had a scheduled inspection Oct. 8. It was cited for: Insects, rodents or animals present.
This is the first C since the restaurant opened in 2022.
Promenade Panda Palace Buffet, 3920 Promenade Parkway, D’Iberville was inspected Oct. 8 for a permit renewal. It was cited for:
▪ Toxic Substance not properly identified, stored, used, a repeat offense.
Corrected during the inspection were:
▪ Adequate hand washing facilities supplies and accessible
▪ Food separated and protected
A follow-up inspection the next day, on Oct. 9, showed the violation was corrected and the restaurant was given a B.
This was the first C at this location under this name since it changed in August 2023, according to the health department report.
New Panda Palace Buffet at the same location had frequent violations. In 2020, the restaurant scored its eighth since it opened in 2014.
