It’s mudbug season, y’all.

Boiled crawfish is back on the menu at your favorite Mississippi Coast restaurants, bars and seafood shops, providing dozens of options if you don’t want to plan your own boil.

Everyone has their own way of boiling crawfish: some like it spicy, some like the boil filled with veggies and sausage and others like their crawfish dipped in a sauce.

From traditional fare to Viet-cajun seafood specialties, it’s no secret that the Gulfport-Biloxi metro has some of the best of the boiled crawfish in the Deep South.

But we’re on a mission to find the best of the best in South Mississippi.

It’s time to vote in the second annual Sun Herald Crawfish Bracket. You helped pick 24 of the best restaurants for crawfish, and you can vote for the winner over five rounds.

In last year’s inaugural competition, Claw Daddy’s in Gulfport won the bracket with more than 100,000 votes, but they had fierce competition in each round.

In the first round of voting, which is open now, we’ll narrow the contenders from 24 restaurants to 16. This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like by simply refreshing the page.

Voting in round one ends at noon on Monday, March 27, 2023.
