Date night at this Biloxi restaurant is a true farm-to-table experience. Here’s my review.
My husband and I wanted to try somewhere new for a recent date night, and we chose to go White Pillars Restaurant and Lounge for the first time after many Coast residents suggested it as a gem hidden in plain sight.
The beautiful building has a deep history rooted in Biloxi, and the intimate atmosphere in one of the front dining rooms was perfect for a romantic evening.
Chef and owner Austin Sumrall and his wife, Tresse, showcase true farm-to-table dining at White Pillars.
Vegetables and other produce are grown locally and fish, chicken, ducks and seafood are all sourced from local farms or from Coast waters. The Sumralls give a detailed explanation of each dish’s origin on the menu that changes frequently.
The dishes we tried at White Pillars
My husband and I tried the swordfish and the duck ramen.
Chef Austin personally explained to us the elements from each dish and where the ingredients came from.
There are no words that actually describe the phenomenal experience, in my opinion: the cuisine was well seasoned, unique and simply amazing. I give the entire experience a 10/10. The service was exceptional, too.
The duck ramen and the swordfish were new menu items. Check White Pillar’s social media, as they post daily about new limited menu items, new cocktails and catch-of-the-day selections.
The White Pillars serves fine, elegant food that’s perfect for monthly date night. There’s also a monthly drag brunch featuring local drag queens, and it almost always sells out.
