Chapel Hart is going on tour after ‘AGT’ and the Opry. First stop? Biloxi
The girls from Chapel Hart scored the group golden buzzer on “America’s Got Talent,” wowed the audience at Grand Ole Opry and now are launching their Glory Days Tour in Biloxi.
“We are so excited to meet all of our new and forever fans,” they said on Facebook as they announced their tour Monday.
The tour begins Nov. 30 at Ground Zero Blues Club in Biloxi, followed by a third trip to the Grand Ole Opry on Dec. 3.
Then it will be months of traveling and singing across the South, East, the Midwest and the West Coast, before Chapel Hart returns to Biloxi July 15 to stand on the stage at the Coast Coliseum and wrap up their tour in front of their South Mississippi hometown fans.
They’ll also be at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gulfport July 14, 2023.
Tickets for all shows — at places like the Apollo Cafe in New York City, the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs and The Vermont Hollywood in Los Angeles — will be on sale soon.
The trio from Poplarville told the Sun Herald they screamed with joy when they realized country star Dolly Parton posted a message to them on social media after their appearance on America’s Got Talent. Chapel Hart performed their answer to Patron’s 1970s hit “Jolene” with their version, “You Can Have Him Jolene.”
They since wrote their answer to Loretta Lynn’s song “Fist City,” which the country legend requested just weeks before she died in her sleep on Oct. 4.
The announcement of the tour is the latest of a whirlwind of appearances and a scare for Danica and Devynn Hart and their cousin, Trea Swindle,.
The scare came when Danica Hart had vocal cord surgery on Oct. 28. She was on vocal rest for a few weeks, communicating by carrying a whiteboard to talk, even on Nov. 9, when Chapel Hart made their first red carpet appearance at the Country Music Awards.
“Three years ago, we celebrated the CMAs at @tootsies_orchid_lounge rooftop bar just hoping and praying that one day we would make it to the event,” they said in a Facebook post, “and by the grace of God we finally got the opportunity. We want to send a huge shout out to our friends at @cma for having us, and who knows maybe next year we’ll be on that great stage.”
They were in New Orleans the next day for the Offbeat Awards.
“We were nominated in four different categories and would y’all believe that we went home with all four awards,” they said.
They sang the National Anthem for the Ole Miss and Alabama football game on Nov. 12.
They dreamed of success but never imagined, while they were home writing songs about growing up in Mississippi, they would achieve this level of success in such a short time, Devynn said.
“I can only tell you this career does not pay off until it does and there’s not much gray area in between,” Danica said.
