Saturday or Sunday? Here’s when you can Halloween trick-or-treat in MS Coast cities

Halloween falls on Sunday this year, so parents are asking on social media if their city will reschedule trick-or-treating to another night.

Almost every city in South Mississippi will allow kids to go trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

Moss Point is the exception. The city has moved trick-or-treating to Saturday.

Pass Christian is allowing residents to decide if they want to trick-or-treat on Saturday or Sunday.

Cases of COVID-19 have substantially decreased from summer, but parents still have to be concerned with safe candy and their children knocking on doors.

Several cities, churches and businesses are providing safe alternatives to going door-to-door.

  • Pass Christian’s Trunk or Treat is from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the ballfield on Fleitas Avenue and it will be a drive-thru event. Families will stay in their vehicles and volunteers will hand out the candy.
  • Waveland families can take part in the Halloween Bash on Coleman Avenue, with pizza and popcorn in addition to lots of candy. It’s from 4-7 p.m. Sunday.
  • Gautier First United Methodist Church will give Halloween a different twist with its Trucks & Treats food truck festival from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the church on U.S. 90. Get candy and show off your costume.
  • D’Iberville’s Trunk or Treat on Halloween night encourages families to give back to the community by contributing to the canned food drive. It’s from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Bobby Eleuterius Sports Complex behind the elementary school.
