Goodbye GoDaddy, hello Dollar General Bowl
If you like buying batteries and toilet paper at cheap rates, you'll love the new sponsor for Mobile's bowl game.
The Go Daddy Bowl is no more. Long live the Dollar General Bowl.
The bowl game, which is entering its 18th season, announced its new sponsor on Wednesday in a Twitter post. It will again be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium and feature teams from the Sun Belt Conference and Mid-American Conference.

Nothing screams Dollar General more than an Arkansas State-Akron football game.
In the past, the game has been called the Mobile Alabama Bowl and the GMAC Bowl. There was plenty of snickering when the game became the GoDaddy.com Bowl in 2010, but it's one of many postseason games that have featured odd sponsorships in the past. Even the Fiesta Bowl was known as the “Battle Frog Fiesta Bowl” for the Jan. 1, 2016, game.
Georgia Southern ran away with the 2015 contest by a score of 58-27 over Bowling Green before a decent crowd of 28,656.
The 2016 Dollar General Bowl will be played at 7 p.m. on Dec. 23 and be on ESPN.
