Ocean Springs sets tone early against Hammond

Four players scored touchdowns as Ocean Springs overpowered Hammond 31-8 on Friday night.

The Greyhounds (2-1) have won two straight after their season-opening loss to Brandon.

Wide receiver Austin Williams, a Mississippi State verbal commitment, scored on a 90-yard run.

Elijah Burrus scored on a 57 yard touchdown run. Yasin Simpson added a 28-yard TD run. Daveaunce Gaines added a 9-yard TD run.

Ashton Garner kicked a 42 yard field goal for the Greyhounds, who led 31-0 at halftime.

Hammond avoided a shutout, scoring with 54 seconds left.
