Sun Herald unveils the 2015-16 All-South Mississippi Girls Soccer Team

The 2015-16 Sun Herald All-South Mississippi Girls Soccer Team features plenty of flash as well as rock-solid defenders.

This year's team also features a wide range of experience, from eighth grader Alyssa Palisi (Hancock), freshman Marion Pohl (Bay) and sophomore Alexis Arnoult (Gulfport) among the most dangerous scorers on the Coast.

Defense wins championships, so the Sun Herald's squad was built from the back forward, starting with Player of the Year and Ocean Springs keeper Karsen Gildea.

Defenders on this year's team included Rylee Foster (Ocean Springs), Hannah Heustiss (Biloxi) and Lauren Penny (Gulfport).

Anna Grace Cooley (George County), Caroline Grafe (Hancock), Summer Hansen (West Harrison), Casey LaFontaine (Pass Christian), Mallory Nuccio (Poplarville) and Gabby Vincent (West Harrison) all patrolled the midfield and set the tone for their respective teams.

Leading the attack were Sun Herald selections Harley Johnson (George County), Olivia Moger (Long Beach) and Amy Ditsworth (Resurrection).

For his part in guiding West Harrison to the Class 5A finals and providing stability to a program that had been through three coaches in as many years, West Harrison's Todd Moniz was selected as the Sun Herald's Coach of the Year.
