Naked man attempts sex assault, held at gunpoint by homeowners, sheriff says

Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson Sheriff said a naked man with a history of nude criminal behavior was attempting to sexually assault a sleeping woman in a Pass Christian home when his plan was stopped by the woman’s armed husband.

Peterson said Kenda Casey, 32, of Gulfport, broke into a home in the 6000 block of Kiln-DeLisle Road on April 23.

Harrison County sheriff’s Lt. Coley Judy said the invasion happened about 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

“Casey was naked when he entered the home and was on top of the woman when she woke up and found him,” Judy said. “She threw him to the ground and got on top of him and her husband pulled a gun on him and held him at gunpoint until deputies arrived.”

Judy said the home showed no sign of forced entry, adding he did not believe Casey knew the couple. Judy said the couple are in their 60s.

Casey was arrested on charges of home invasion and attempted sexual assault. Judy said deputies covered him in a sheet before taking him to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.

Judge Diane Ladner set Casey’s bond at $300,000.

Casey has been arrested seven times since 2013. This was his third arrest that involved nudity. In June, he was arrested after he attempted to enter a Gulfport business not wearing any clothes. Police said he then stole a vehicle and led them on a chase. He was later caught by a K-9 team and was bitten by a dog during his arrest.

He also was arrested for indecent exposure in November 2014.
