Truck fire snarls traffic on I-10 near Exit 57 in Jackson County
Monday evening commuters can expect traffic snarls on eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Mississippi 57.
An 18-wheeler’s cab caught fire and an undetermined amount of diesel was spilled near the underpass, Mississippi Highway Patrol Officer Chase Elkins said.
All lanes were shut down in response to the fire.
Road crews are working to clean up about 400 years of diesel spilled, he said.
It happened about 4 p.m.
“It may take a while for traffic to clear up,” Elkins said about 4:30 p.m.
