No injuries reported in Jackson County 18-wheeler fire

A blown tire on Interstate 10 near Highway 57 in Jackson County led to a vehicle fire.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Chase Elkins said the blowout occurred on I-10 near the mile marker 58 at around 4:45 a.m.

Elkins said an 18-wheeler blew a tire on its trailer and sparked a fire to the trailer. There was only one vehicle involved and no injuries were reported.

First responders extinguished the fire and the vehicle has been removed from the scene.

Traffic is moving again with no major delays reported in Jackson County.
