A Gulfport woman is recovering after she was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend, police said.
Gulfport police Sgt. Damon McDaniel said Merlin Kent Williams, 30, of Gulfport, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of aggravated domestic assault.
McDaniel said Williams was arrested after an officer responding to a residence in the 2700 block of Pine Avenue around 8:30 a.m. found the victim with stab wounds to her upper torso. She was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Williams, McDaniel said, had been in an argument with the victim before she was stabbed. He was arrested later that day at the home of a family member.
He was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.
Williams’ bond was set at $100,000 by Judge Louise Ladner.
