Body found in pond at Gulf Hills apartments
JACKSON COUNTY -- An autopsy is planned on the body of a man found in a pond at The Reserve at Gulf Hills apartment complex in the Gulf Hills community, officials said.
Maintenance personnel at The Reserve saw the body about 11:30 a.m. Monday and called for help, Sheriff’s Capt. Chris Stratton said.
There was no apparent cause of death, he said, so the investigation may hinge on the results of an autopsy.
Statton said the man lives at the apartment complex.
“We’re following up on everything we can now — the who, what, when, where and how — and don’t know much to say right now,” Stratton said.
Deputy Coroner Jason Moody said an autopsy will be performed Tuesday.
The apartment complex is off of Washington Avenue just north of Ocean Springs.
