Students and a driver evacuated safety as a bus began smoking and eventually caught fire, a volunteer fire department said on Facebook.

Bayside Fire Department responded to the bus fire in the Bayside Park community of Hancock County about 4 p.m. Firefighters contained the blaze quickly, according to the Facebook post.

Students and the driver were able to safely exit the bus before it was engulfed in flames, the fire department said. No injuries were reported.

The bus was completely scored and diminished to its frame, photos show. The yellow paint burned off of the exterior.

Bayside Park is in the Hancock County School District. Authorities did not release the ages of the children on the bus.
