Dive team recovers body of Hancock teen who disappeared under water at Kiln dirt pit
A dive team late Sunday found the body of a teenager who disappeared while swimming in a pond with friends Sunday at a dirt pit, Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam told the Sun Herald.
Hancock County Coroner Jeff Hair identified the teen as 18-year-old Aydin Stallings of Kiln.
The dirt pit is on Kiln-Picayune Road. It was a private business but has been closed for years, Adam said.
The teen was with a “group of people” when he went underwater and never resurfaced, Adam said.
Sheriff’s deputies are at the scene.
