Adult pool party will make a splash at Golden Nugget Casino

BILOXI -- Things are heating up this summer at Golden Nugget Casino, which expects its new pool party concept to make a big splash.

Scott King, vice president of marketing and hotel at Golden Nugget, said the casino is launching Adult Swim on Thursday at H20, the resort-style pool area. The event targets adults looking to start their weekend a little early.

It will cost $10 to get into the pool, and the party is only for guests 21 and over. Hotel guests get two free passes to Adult Swim.

Guests can bring swimsuits and enjoy the swim-up bar or rent a bed or cabana for lounging. For those who don't want to get wet, a band and disc jockey will play on select Thursdays throughout the month, so bring your dancing shoes. Guests can also take advantage of the fire pits and outdoor blackjack tables.

Dancers also will help get the party started, King said.

"We're moving towards an outdoor nightclub," King said. "This brand new midweek offering for the Coast gives folks who want to jump-start their weekend with something to do on a Thursday night. You can party in the pool, or you can party outside of the pool, and you can do both."

The pool will close at 11 p.m., and guests are invited to continue to the party with DJ Rico inside Rush Lounge.

"Anyone who enjoyed Hydrate this year will definitely enjoy the Adult Swim brand on Thursdays," King said.

Hydrate, Golden Nugget's Saturday event at H20, is popular, but King said clearing out the pool for the band to set up and begin ticket sales was disrupting. Now, disc jockeys will exclusively play on Saturdays to keep the party going.

Golden Nugget also is introducing H20 Unplugged on select Sundays. Guests will be able to listen to acoustic acts while unwinding before the work week.

Adult Swim, Hydrate, and H20 Unplugged will continue through Labor Day, King said.

There is a $30 cost to enter the pool on Saturday or Sunday.
