Gulfport church damaged during morning blaze

A Gulfport church was damaged after a Tuesday-morning fire.

Gulfport Battalion Chief Chris Henderson said firefighters reported to a fire about 10 a.m. at New Jerusalem Church on 23rd Avenue.

Henderson said the structure sustained moderate damage. No one was in the church at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
