It's the final week of the regular season in both Class 3A and 4A Friday night. Some Coast teams are sweating it while others are already a sure thing for the playoffs.
I hoped "Patrick's Picks" would pick up some steam to close out the season, but I've been mostly treading water lately thanks to some upsets and tough luck picking tight contests.
Now I'm looking to avoid another horror show on Halloween weekend with an overall record of 100-30.

Hancock 21, Biloxi 20: The Hawks played a little better last week, taking an early lead before stumbling to a 42-21 loss at Harrison Central. One of these teams is going to have its first region win Friday night. I'll give Hancock (3-7, 0-5) the edge on its home field over Biloxi (3-6, 0-5).
St. Martin 42, George County 24: No game on the Coast Friday will feature more offensive talent than this contest. St. Martin has players like utility man Tyler Polk and quarterback Wayne Overman. George County (5-4, 1-4) has quarterback LaRaymond Spivery and receiver Dwan Williams. St. Martin has the better defense so I'm casting my lot with the Yellow Jackets (8-2, 3-2).
Ocean Springs 21, Gulfport 20: Ocean Springs (8-1, 5-0) has proven tough in tight games, eking out last week's 31-29 win over St. Martin. Even though they'll be on the road at Gulfport (7-2, 5-0), it's hard to bet against the Greyhounds in a game that will decide Region 4-6A.
D'Iberville 28, Harrison Central 21: This contest should end up being an elimination game for the playoffs. Both teams are 3-2 in Region 4-6A play.
Gautier 35, West Harrison 14: The Gators (4-5, 2-3) have to win this game to keep their faint playoff hopes alive. Gautier has a better team than last year's squad that reached the postseason, but it's in a better Region 4-5A this year with the addition of Hattiesburg and Pearl River Central.
Long Beach 21, Stone 14: Long Beach (2-8, 1-4) pulled off the shocker last week in its 36-34 overtime win at Picayune. The Bearcats can build more momentum against a Stone team (3-6, 1-4) that is coming off a 34-26 win over West Harrison.
Pearl River Central 28, Hattiesburg 17: This game is at Hattiesburg, but I see PRC (8-1, 5-0) headed back to Carriere with a win if it plays as well as it did in last week's 17-7 win over Pascagoula.
Pascagoula 28, Picayune 20: Pascagoula (6-3, 4-1) has yet to lose a game at home this season and Picayune (5-4, 4-1) is banged up entering the final two weeks.
Columbia 27, Poplarville 21: Poplarville (5-4, 2-2) has stumbled late in the season, but it will still be in the playoffs.
Moss Point 21, Bay High 14: It's pretty much a win and your in situation for both teams. I like Moss Point on its home field.
East Central 24, Vancleave 14: East Central (6-3, 3-1) already has the No. 2 seed and a home playoff game locked up. Vancleave (3-7, 1-3) needs to win and hope that Moss Point beats Bay to earn a playoff bid.
St. Stanislaus 27, Pass Christian 10: St. Stanislaus (6-3, 4-0) already has the region title wrapped up. Pass Christian (5-4, 2-2) appears in good position for the playoffs for the first time since 2003. The best way to avoid any tie-breakers is for Pass Christian to win or have East Central beat Vancleave.
Seminary 42, St. Patrick 10: Seminary (5-5, 2-2) is playing well to close out the season after beating Tylertown, 27-20, last week. What has been a difficult season will come to a close for St. Patrick (0-10).
Resurrection 24, Lumberton 7: Resurrection hasn't allowed points in a game since Sept. 11. The Eagles (8-0, 4-0) have put together four straight shutouts, but I think the run ends against Lumberton (5-4, 4-0). If RCS wins, it will be the Region 4-1A champion.
