Mississippi State maintained its No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press Top 25 Sunday, followed by No. 2 Florida State and No. 3 Ole Miss.
MSU is 6-0 and 3-0 in the SEC coming off a bye week as it prepares to travel to Kentucky for a 2:30 p.m. game on Saturday.
The Bulldogs managed to stay one spot ahead of Florida State, which beat No. 7 Notre Dame, 31-27, Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla.
MSU received 43 first-place votes, FSU earned 14 and Ole Miss received three.
FSU's win prevented the Rebels (7-0, 3-0) from making much movement, staying in the third spot for a third straight week.
Alabama is No. 4 and Auburn is No. 5, giving the SEC four teams in the AP Top 5. That marks the first time that a conference has put four teams in the top five. All of those teams are in the SEC West.
Ole Miss travels Saturday to LSU, which moved to No. 24 in the poll.
The rankings also remained the same in the Amway Coaches Poll – 1. MSU, 2, Florida State, 3. Ole Miss.
MSU increased its lead over FSU for No. 1 in the coaches poll. The Bulldogs had just a one-point lead over Florida State a week ago. This week, MSU leads FSU 1520-1493 in points.
Ole Miss received 1,447 points in the coaches poll.
