Citronnade won the $150,000 Santa Ana Handicap by five lengths in a stakes-record 1:46.21 at Santa Anita yesterday, giving trainer Bobby Frankel his seventh win of the event.
Ridden by David Flores, the 4-year-old filly led from gate to wire, breaking the record over 11/8 miles on turf of 1:46.23 set by Exchange in 1993.
Citronnade got her third consecutive win. Conveyor's Angel was second and Memorette was two lengths farther back in third.
The win was worth $90,000 for Citronnade's owner Frank Stronach. The filly has won six times in nine career starts and earned $342,800.
