Mississippi State Trapshooting Association Tournament returns to Coast

The Mississippi State Trapshooting Association Championship Tournament will be held at the Gulf Coast Rifle and Pistol Club on May 26-29.

For the second straight year, the Gulf Coast Rifle and Pistol Club will host the four-day event. The event is free and open to the Public.

Over 140 trap shooters from 29 different states and Canada competed in 2015. Over 60,000 clay targets expected to get shot in this year's event.

"We're excited about bringing the tournament back," Gulf Coast Rifle and Pistol Club secretary John Oren said. "It was exceptional. We've gotten nothing but positive feedback for hosting it. The event couldn't have gone any better."

Oren expects over 150 participants at this year's event.

Registration and practice at Coast Rifle and Pistol Club will open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday. Registration will also open at 7:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The Daily fees are$3 ATA and MTA. Program Targets are $35 per 100. Practice targets $5 per 25.
