Tori Bowie, a former Southern Miss track star, advanced to the semifinals of the women’s 100-meter run at the Olympics on Friday night.
Bowie finished first in her heat with a time of 11.13.
The Sand Hill native will compete in the semifinals, which will be held between 7 p.m. and 7:14 p.m. Saturday. Should Bowie advance, the finals are at 8:35 p.m.
Bowie is also competing in the women’s 200-meter race and the 4 x 100 meter relays next week.
Heats for the 200-meter finals start at 7:35 a.m. Monday. The 200 meter semifinals will be held between 8 p.m. and 8:16 p.m. Tuesday. The finals will be held at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The Women’s 4x100m relay will begin heats at 9:20 a.m. Aug. 18, with the finals at 8:15 p.m. on Aug. 19.
