The New Orleans Saints have signed running back Vick Ballard, a Pascagoula native, to a reserve/future contract for the upcoming season.
It was announced in Wednesday's transactions.
Ballard, who played at Gulf Coast Community College and Mississippi State, was a fifth-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2012.
Ballard rushed for 814 yards in his rookie season but battled major injuries and played sparingly since. He was waived by the Colts before last year's season-opener.
