‘Let’s make another run at it!’ Drew Brees will return to Saints for 2020 season.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will be playing for the black and gold for at least one more season, he announced on Tuesday.

Brees revealed his plan in a post to his Instagram account.

“I look forward to the grind and the journey, for the reward at the end will be worth it!!!,” Brees said in his post. “Love you #WhoDatNation. Let’s make another run at it!”

Saints head coach Sean Payton said after the season ended that he expected Brees to return for another season, but there was recent buzz that the former Purdue star could call it quits.

Brees turned 41 in January and is entering his 20th year in the NFL — his 15th with the Saints.

Despite missing five games with an injury to his throwing hand in 2019, Brees continues to play at a high level. He made the Pro Bowl after completing 74.3 percent of his passes for 2,979 yards, 27 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Backup quarterbacks Taysom Hill and Teddy Bridgewater showed this past season that they could fill in capably for Brees.
