Saints coach Sean Payton fined $10,000 for improperly entering the playing field
The NFL has fined New Orleans coach Sean Payton $10,000 for improperly entering the playing field against the Atlanta Falcons last week.
Payton, whose unsportsmanlike conduct against Atlanta was reviewed by the NFL this week due to the league’s practice of reviewing all unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, was not the only coach who was fined.
Seattle coach Pete Carroll and Jaguars assistants Pat Flaherty and Keenan McCardell were also fined for entering the playing field improperly.
According to NFL rules, a head coach may enter the field only to check on an injured player.
