Jacob Nottingham’s RBI-single in the 11th inning Thursday in Jackson, Tennessee, lifted the Biloxi Shuckers to a 4-3 win over the Generals.
The designated hitter bailed out the Shuckers (19-29, 58-57) in the series opener after the Generals overcame Biloxi’s two-run lead in the ninth to tie the game at 3.
Biloxi scored twice in the second inning on Rene Garcia’s single and Angel Ortega’s double for a 2-0 lead.
Jackson (27-18, 73-42) made it 2-1 in the fourth, but the Shuckers extended their lead in the top of the ninth to 3-1 on a double by Nottingham.
The Generals, who have the best overall record in the Southern League this season, scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game and send it to extra innings.
Nottingham had a game-high three hits including two doubles.
Tristan Archer pitched the final two innings to earn the win.
