Montgomery thumps Biloxi in series finale

The Biloxi Shuckers gave up a season high in runs Thursday in a 17-2 road loss to the Montgomery Biscuits.

The Shuckers (33-26) return home to begin a five-game series against the Birmingham Barons at 7:10 p.m. on Friday.

The Biscuits (30-30) pounded out 20 hits, including three home runs Thursday night. Willy Adames, Patrick Leonard and Mike Marjama each had homers.

Shuckers pitcher Wei-Chung Wang (2-3) gave up eight runs on 10 hits in five innings to take the loss.

Montgomery's Taylor Guerrieri improved to 4-4 by giving up one run on five hits while striking out one and walking one in six innings.

Catcher Jacob Nottingham was 2-for-4 at the plate for the Shuckers, who won the series 3-2.
