Weeks after Buck Rogers left his job as the first general manager of the Biloxi Shuckers baseball team, he's beginning his 20th season in minor league baseball with a position with the JetHawks in Lancaster, Calif.

He said he will use his mastery of creative ideas in his new position as senior director of ticket sales and promotion.

The JetHawks are a High-A affiliate of the Houston Astros. Lancaster is northeast of Los Angeles.

"We are excited to have Buck on board as we gear up for 2016," said Tom Backemeyer, JetHawks executive vice president. "His years of experience, as well as his enthusiasm, energy and creativity, will all be key in making this season a memorable one for Hawks fans of all ages."

Rogers oversaw the transition of the Huntsville Stars to the Biloxi Shuckers as the team moved to South Mississippi in the 2015 season. After playing a 55-game road trip, the Shuckers fell one game short of clinching the minor league championship. Baseball America named the Shuckers the Minor League Team of the Year.

Prior to his seven seasons in Huntsville, Rogers was general manager of the Brevard County Manatees and the Daytona Cubs in the Florida State League, and the Cape Fear Crocs of the South Atlantic League.
