The honors keep rolling in for the inaugural season of the Biloxi Shuckers.
The Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers was announced as the Minor League Team of the Year by Baseball America on Wednesday.
The Shuckers endured a 54-game road trip to start the season while construction continued on MGM Park in Biloxi. The team finished that long journey with a 33-21 record to be in first place when the Shuckers finally played their first home game, a 5-4 victory over the Mobile BayBears.
The Shuckers claimed the first-half title in the Southern League South Division and came up one game short of winning the Southern League title, losing 4-0 to Chattanooga in game five of the SLCS.
