Biloxi baseball contributes $100,000 to community organizations
A fundraising program, developed by Biloxi Shuckers concessionaire Spectra Food Services & Hospitality, raised more than $100,000 for Coast-area civic organizations during the Shuckers' season at MGM Park.
Through Spectra's NFP program, qualified nonprofit groups and civic organizations provided volunteers to assist with concession stand operations as cashiers, vendors and stand workers. They raised money as they served the fans.
Among the groups that participated this year were wildlife rehabilitation foundations, high school booster clubs, military organizations, boys and girls sports teams and area churches.
"This program was another one of MGM Park's great success stories," said Mike Brulatour, Spectra general manager for MGM Park. "These groups provided motivated and engaged volunteers to serve hungry and thirsty Shuckers' fans for each home game."
