Pitcher acquired in Brewers-Pirates trade assigned to Shuckers

The Biloxi Shuckers received a new addition to their roster Thursday when the Milwaukee Brewers traded third baseman Aramis Ramirez to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Brewers sent Ramirez to the Pirates for minor league right-hander Yhonathan Barrios and cash considerations.

Milwaukee assigned Barrios, a relief pitcher, to the Shuckers.

The native Colombian was 1-2 with a 4.60 ERA in 13 games at the Triple-A level this season. He started the season with a 1.46 ERA in 20 appearances at Double-A Altoona.

Ramirez was batting .247 with 11 homers and 42 RBIs this season for the Brewers.
