BILOXI – Rudy Flores and Gabriel Guerrero hit solo homers Monday night as the Mobile BayBears dealt the Biloxi Shuckers their third straight loss, 4-0, at MGM Park.
It was the fourth straight win for Mobile and its sixth in the last seven games.
The Shuckers close out their homestand Tuesday night against the BayBears. The Shuckers send right-hander Wily Peralta against the BayBears. Then the Shuckers head to Pensacola to begin a series on Wednesday.
The Shuckers struggled offensively, collecting only four hits – one by pitcher Jorge Lopez. Conversely, Mobile rapped out 11 hits.

Blayne Weller (1-2) was the winning pitcher while Lopez (8-4) took the loss.
“We struggled from the get-go,’ ’ Shuckers manager Carlos Subero said. “The kid (Weller) came in with a high ERA (10.61). He was able to command that curveball early and finish our hitters off with curveballs. He had a running fast ball going on.
“It hasn’t been a good homestand. We’ve been in a little slump but every team goes through that. Hopefully we start playing up to our potential.’’
Mobile jumped on top in the second inning when Flores slammed a home run to right center that went over 370 feet. Four batters later, Kevin Medrano singled to center to score Ronnie Freeman and the BayBears led 2-0.
The BayBears added a solo run in the third inning when Guerrero smashed a two-out, solo homer over the left field wall.
Lopez worked the first six innings, giving up three runs on seven hits, with six strikeouts.
Socrates Brito chipped in a RBI single in the 7th inning, an inning in which Shuckers outfielders helped to throw out two runners.
Weller went 5-1/3 innings, tossing a two-hitter with six strikeouts.
