St. Patrick scored three touchdowns in the second half, but couldn’t overcome first-half turnovers in a 41-20 loss to Columbia Academy on Friday night.

Robert Starks scored on runs of 55 and 77 yards and was the workhorse on the ground.

Jack Magandy had a couple of long receptions, but turnovers stymied more than one drive and Columbia Academy capitalized on those mistakes for 34 first-half points.

Luke Seicshnaydre kicked a pair of extra points.

The final score of the game came as time expired. A punt by St. Patrick was left to roll by Columbia because the players thought it would go out of bounds. It didn’t and St. Patrick downed it on the 1-yard line.

With seconds remaining, Columbia tried to get the ball away from the goal-line and instead fumbled, with Evan Chubb recovering in the endzone after time expired to give the Irish their final points.

St. Patrick (0-2) travels to Varnado, La., next week.
