Long Beach’s Richie Brown will be at SEC Media Days 2016
A familiar beard will be on hand next week when the SEC officially kicks off the march to football season in Hoover, Ala., with SEC Media Days 2016.
Included among Mississippi State’s player representatives will be former Long Beach tackle machine Richie Brown, the league announced Wednesday.
Now a senior, the former Bearcat has been a reliable linebacker for the Bulldogs. In three seasons, Brown has racked up 197 tackles in three seasons.
Brown will be joined by senior defensive end A.J. Jefferson and senior receiver Fred Ross.
Ole Miss will send tight end Evan Engram, defensive lineman D.J. Jones and quarterback Chad Kelly.
Arguably the biggest name in college football, LSU running back Leonard Fournette will lead the Tigers in Hoover along with defensive back Tre’Davious White and center Ethan Pocic.
Alabama will send defensive lineman Jonathan Allen, tight end O.J. Howard and defensive back Eddie Jackson.
SEC Media Days will be held July 11-14 at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham-Wynfrey Hotel and will be televised on SEC Network.
Auburn’s Gus Malzahn, Florida’s Jim McElwain and Vanderbilt’s Derek Mason kick off the event July 11 alongside SEC commissioner Greg Sankey. Georgia’s Kirby Smart, Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen, Tennessee’s Butch Jones and Texas A&M’s Kevin Sumlin will take the stage July 12, with Alabama’s Nick Saban, Arkansas’ Brett Bielema, Kentucky’s Mark Stoops and Missouri’s Barry Odom on July 13. LSU’s Les Miles, Ole Miss’ Hugh Freeze and South Carolina’s Will Muschamp will close the event July 14.
