Gulfport football coach Eddie Pierce resting at home
Gulfport football coach Eddie Pierce is home and resting comfortably, GHS athletics director Bryan Caldwell said Saturday.
Pierce was hospitalized Friday after suffering a heart attack around 1:30 a.m.
His sister, who is in town for the 4th of July weekend, rushed him to the hospital and Pierce had two stents inserted as a result of the heart attack.
Caldwell said Friday that Pierce is expected to make a full recovery.
"He's doing really well," Caldwell updated Saturday.
Pierce has been the Admirals’ head coach since 2013, posting a 24-12 record.
