HARRISON COUNTY--The East Seniors dominated the 28th Annual South Mississippi All-Star Classic at West Harrison High School on Sunday.
The East scored five runs in the first inning on their way to a 10-2 win over the West.
St. Martin's Chance Groue got the East going with a solo homer in the first. With two outs, George County's Connor Dunlap walked and Vancleave's Austin Moen's singled put runners on first and second. Pascagoula's Griffin Sublett and George County's Kyle Whittington each had RBI singles. Jacob Vick of East Central capped the five-hit inning with a two-run double for a 5-0 lead.
"Chance put a good swing on the ball and got it up, and he centered it up well," said East coach Ricky Smith of Ocean Springs. "He kind of set the tone for the rest of the game. Our guys kind of relaxed. This was a fun bunch to coach. They came out and had a good time and played hard all day. I'm proud of these seniors and all their accomplishments for the year. They deserve to be out here today."
