Pass Christian senior long distance runner Regen McGee has signed a letter of intent to attend Southern Miss, her family announced on Monday.

McGee plans to compete in both track and cross country for the Golden Eagles.

After initially deciding to give up running before her senior year, McGee returned to the Lady Pirates' track squad just prior to the start of the season. She recently won the Class 4A state title in the 3,200 meters during the state meet at Pearl High School.

McGee won the 1,600- and 3,200-meter state championships as an eighth grader, freshman, sophomore and junior.

McGee joins her three other sisters as Division I signees. Shannon McGee competed in track at Mississippi State. Cory McGee, who competed at Florida, is one of the nation's top long-distance runners. Devin McGee played soccer at Southern Miss.

All four of the McGee sisters have combined for over 50 state championships.
