Prep Roundup: West Harrison sweeps Moss Point, D'Iberville

Jay Farlow had two hits and two RBI as West Harrison beat Moss Point 12-2 on Saturday.

Tyler VanNorman had two hits, including a homer. Hunter Simmons got the win. Colby Cagle, Taylor Woodcock Hunter Simmons, Cody Gassman all had RBIs.

In game two, West Harrison (18-3) beat D'Iberville 5-3, overcoming a 3-0 deficit. Taylor Woodcock had three hits and an RBI. Farlow had two hits and pair of RBIs. Tyler Jones got the win, Kasey Donaldson earned the save. Hunter Simmons,Lawson Capers hit RBIs and Brandon Triplett each with RBI.

East Central 11, Greene County 0: Jacob Luikart had three hits for the Hornets (10-6) on Saturday. Will Garriga had two hits and a pair of RBIs. Logan Walters and Brad Cumbest, also the winning pitcher, had two hits. Reis Trager had an RBI.

Hancock 6, Bay High 0: Bryce Warren tossed a two-hitter in the win as the Hawks (8-10) shutout Bay High (12-7) on Saturday. Tyler Mautino led the Hawks with two hits and a pair of RBIs.

Long Beach 8, Gulfport 1: Justin Lockey struck out four to get the win for the Bearcats (11-9). Clayton Maxwell had two RBIs, Josh Borzik added two hits.

Stone 6, Poplarville 4: Truitt Smith (4-3) got the win for the Tomcats (11-8), while Hunter Clark got the save. Mason Hunt had three hits and an RBI. Smith, Hayden Harrell and Preston Stringer all had two hits and an RBI.

St. Stanislaus 15, Harrison Central 10: Ryan Pitalo, MacGruder O'Bannon, Sonny Valentine and Jack Wagner all with two hits for the Rockachaws (12-7, 5-3 Region 8-4A). Jack Putnam hit a three-run homer, Brendan Logan got the victory.

Bay High 12, Moss Point 2: Gage Kiser improved to 6-1, striking out seven batters as Bay High crushed Moss Point on Friday. Addison Goncinski and Kiser each had three hits for the Tigers.

St. Stanislaus 10, Pass Christian 1: On Friday night, Nick Hertz (4-1) got the win and struck out seven. Brendan Logan had three hits, Connor St. Mary added two hits.

Stone 3, Pearl River Central 2: Hayden Harrell, Mason Hunt, Truitt Smith, all had two hits for the Tomcats (10-8, 4-4 Region 7-5A). Steven Hartfield had two RBIs. Tristan Parker (5-2) was the winning pitcher, striking out six.

Biloxi 6, Hancock 5: Despite three hits and a homer from Brindon Hoda and Landon Jordan, the Hawks (7-10, 3-5 Region 8-6A) fell at Biloxi on Friday.

West Harrison 12, Long Beach 4: Tate and Brandon Parker both hit homers. Brandon Parker had three hits. Cage Simon got the win and struck out six for the Hurricanes (16-3, 5-1 Region 8-5A) on Friday. Tyler Van Norman and Jay Farlow each had two hits and an RBI, Taylor Woodcock and Cade Simon each had RBI, Colby Cagle had two RBIs, Kasey Donaldson had three hits and RBI.

Gulfport 19, Harrison Central 4: Blake Johnson and Ethan Saucier each had two hits and three RBIs for the Admirals on Friday. Kevin Carter had three hits. Gage Clark had two hits and two RBIs.

Softball

Gulfport 11, Vancleave 1: Whitney Seymour had three hits and two RBIs for Gulfport. Taylor Chambliss and Sara Lindsey each had two RBIs for the Lady Admirals. Allison Rivers had two hits. Lauren Penny and Fallon Brown each had RBI, Jessica Lee was the winning pitcher.

St. Patrick wins three: St. Patrick beat Long Beach 10-2 in game one Friday. Anna D'Aquilla struck out 12 batters. Morgan McCrea had two hits and three RBIs. Raven Blackwell had two hits. In game two, St. Patrick won 7-1 as D'Aquilla improved to 11-0. Liz Zorich had two hits and four RBIs. McCrea had two hits. The Lady Irish (20-0) beat McComb 15-0 on Saturday at Morgan Redmond (9-0) got the win. Raven Blackwell had three hits, D'Aquilla with two hits.

Harrison Central 12, Ocean Springs 1: Desirea Lindsey had four hits and three RBI for the Red Rebelettes (14-3). Simone McKinney had four hits and scored four times. Madison Burge had two hits and three RBIs. Kristen Cade got the win.

Biloxi splits: Christine Marsland got the win as the Lady Indians beat Stone 5-4, Carlie Vice had three hits. Kaitlyn Passeau had four hits as George County beat Biloxi 6-5. Olivia Holley hit a two-run homer for the Lady Indians (8-6-1).

OLA sweeps: Dallas Blaker struck out seven as the Lady Crescents (8-10) beat McComb 12-2. Alex Necaise had three hits and two RBI. Grace Greer and Grace Koons each had two hits and a pair of RBI. OLA also beat Long Beach 12-2.
