JUCO roundup: Coast standouts ink with state's junior colleges

Several South Mississippi's basketball standouts signed junior colleges Friday.

D'Iberville standout Zachary Scales signed with Meridian Community College after averaging 19 points, 2.6 assists and 1.8 rebounds as a senior.

Gulfport's Tyrell McArthur signed with Copiah-Lincoln Community College on Friday. The guard was second on the Admirals in points (8.9) and also averaged 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists.

Lady Admirals forward Aarmanii McDaniel has inked with Pearl River Community College. She was a force for Gulfport, averaging 9.7 points.

Harrison Central duo Jonathan "Biscuit" Floyd and Adyn Strickland will also be headed to the next level. Strickland signed with Pearl River after averaging 17.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.5 steals.

Floyd will join former Admirals teammate McArthur at Co-Lin. Floyd averaged 19.8 points and 4.4 assists per contest.

St. Martin's duo of Jonte Moultrie and Johnnelius Anderson with Gulf Coast and Co-Lin, respectively.

Poplarville's Craig Barnes.signed with PRCC on Friday after averaging 14.8 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
